Nazwa Bday Cake

This in one of my "old" creation in the beginning of this year which made for my friend's friend, Mbak Kazum, for her daughter 1st anniversary.
She ordered Lapis Surabaya and a girlie touch for the cake decoration. This is my presentation to realize that request.
Later on, she sms me and said that her daughter like the cake deco so much :)
Thank you Mbak Kazum...

Barongsai for Chinese New Year
Barongsai cakes for Thirta and Ritz-Carlton Wedding Department... Gong Xi Fat Cai!!!
My friend, Michelle, from W-organizer asked me to make roll cake with a special design for her colleagues at Thirta Bali and Ritz-Carlton Wedding Department... Well, there is no more Ritz now... since April 1, 2009 the hotel has changed into Ayana Resort - Theme Marins-.
Back to the cake, I was so thrilled when Mitch agreed with my idea to design the roll cake into Barongsai style.
I immediately contacted Ci Fi Fang, she really has a golden hand in cake deco, to ask her the step by step of making this Barongsai cake.
Thanks for sharing ya Ci Fi Fang... it really useful for a beginners like me :)
Happy New Year :))

Ivan's Bday Cake

This cake brings a "what-a-small-world" cliche to me..
I got a call from a lady in Jakarta who wanted to order a cake for her brother, here in Bali. She gave me the details (name, cake's type, address) and yet it doesn't recall anything to me...
By some misunderstanding from my courier-man, I had to deliver this cake to Sanur by myself. kinda late than schedule (sorry ya 'van.....), I even didn't meet the birthday man as he went to church on that evening... Asli deh 'van.... rumah lo spooky bener deh jalannya....boooo...
Back to the cliche story: Ivan's worked for the same company as I am and also a relative of one of my co-workers! Hidup AG ya 'van :DDDD
His comment on Heavenly Choco Cake: Uenaaaaakk... orderan kenceng nih!! (Amieeen)
Looking forward for ordering more cakes @Rea's Cake ya 'van :D

Zebra for Mbak Ade
Actually, this pic should be post on July 16th on Mbak Ade's birthday "party" but as always I forget where I put my CF card hehehehe...(well, I still haven't found it till now :( )Thanks God, my hunny still got some pictures on his camera and edited it for me. Too bad, he didn't has the zebra process step-by-step pictures. I'll try to describe it on verbal then, here it goes:
- you will need a white fondant, rolled it over until you reach +/-8mm thick
- Rolled out black fondant and cut it into un-even stripes like on real zebra.
- Lightly brush the black fondant stripes with a little water then put in on rolled white fondant accordingly to zebra's stripes. Be careful not too brush the stripes with too much water because it will get too soogy and sticky hard to roll again.
- Rolled out again the black fondant stripes which has been attached to the white fondant until +/-5mm thick.
- Voila, You are ready to cover your cake with the zebra stripes....
The cake itself is a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I'll post the recipe later ya.
At first, the cake idea was zebra motive with Mbak Ade's figurine holding a cigarette but unfortunately, my fingers were all thumbs :(( and I successfully failed in making her figurine hehehe. Then, I changed it into flowery theme as you can see at the picture.
Happy birthday to Mbak Ade...
Wish you all the best

Contest:Playing with Butter Cream

This is my first time participating in a contest that rely on pure creativity. Playing with buttercream contest is held by Mbak Anne.
The extraordinary thing about this contest is The PRIZE.... Frankly, I have never heard before an online contest especially for hobbies give prizes away for the winner.
The first thing that come to my mind was to make a Flower Fairy In the Forest. For the fairies, I followed the step by step at Clay books by Indira. For the flowers, I used butter cream(Lha namanya juga contest playing with buttercream getooo :D) and I used tip #104 and piping bag which its point I cut into reverse V.
Well, do I a good player in butter cream? What do you think guys? If, you think my cake design is good then please VOTE ME to support me. (ngarep.com banget deh...:D). Just simple leave your comment to this post.
Your vote would be highly appreciated guys.. :D
Special thanks to Mbak Anne for hosting such a great event so I could spend some times to practise with butter cream. Keep up the good work ya Mbak.

60th Birthday Cake
The design was choosen by Cik Hany herself (PS: I brought her lost of cake deco books) from cake decorating made easy.
The 60 number was edible too...it's Lapis Surabaya cake.
The party run merry and lots of laughter and shouts (yes, shouts!!), a happy ones though, from the kids who never tired playing run and catch in that huge restaurants. Thanks God, they've booked a private hall for this party hahahahaha...
The food were Great and everybody's happy and loved the cake. Yippeee....that's what I've been hoping for...Kids were acting like kids normally, they just couldn't stop themselves to prick the cake and tasted the buttercream ;D
Cik Hanny and some of the family members told me directly that this cake was beyond their expectation (I was invited to the party too). The cake was great and more over, they told me that they are going to order more cakes in the future from me...
I am so honoured Cik Hany and welcome you and all of your family to be Rea's Cake customer...
Psssst...despite of those happy story, the situation was a bit tense when Cik Hany finally saw the birthday cake.....I just bring small party candles consisted of 12 candles and she thought that the cake would be perfect if I bring bigger candles... So, I ran out to the supermarkt below the resto and bought 2 big candles that we usually used whenever there's a blackout hehehehe...
But, she decided to use the small candles then....hehehehehe
PS: I will upload the party pics after I got the copies from my Hünny...soon I hope :D
